The Antill and Collett Street intersection has been identified as having a significant number of crashes, including those with pedestrians and cyclists.

Stop signs are being installed at the intersection. Concrete islands will be removed and new pedestrian refuge islands installed. There will also be additional line marking, signage and kerb ramps.

Construction is estimated to begin late March 2022 and completed by early May 2022.

Impact to drivers and pedestrians

During construction, there will be temporary speed limits in place. Temporary traffic control will be in place during stages of construction.

The footpath will be closed and detours will be in place for pedestrians during some stages of the construction.

Council is coordinating works on this project. It is fully funded under the Federal Government Blackspot Program.
