More advisory committees to join!

Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is seeking Expressions of Interest to join the Bungendore Town Centre and Environs Committee (BTCEC), the new Seniors Advisory Committee, and Small Business Advisory Committee until 27 March 2025.
‘Joining an advisory committee is a great way to make sure your voice is heard. Council really values the contributions of all our committee members,’ said Mayor Kenrick Winchester.
‘In the first round we had more than 120 expressions of interest to join 11 advisory committees, which is an incredible response from our community.
‘I encourage Bungendore residents and business owners along with seniors from all around the region to submit an EOI and get involved.’
BTCEC supports the development and implementation of Council’s strategies and plans to enhance Bungendore’s liveability, commercial prosperity and attractiveness to visitors. Council is seeking 4 community representatives to join BTCEC alongside a representative appointed by the Bungendore Chamber of Commerce and Cr Schweikert who is the Council delegate.

The Seniors Advisory Committee will provide specialist advice on the needs and priorities of seniors in the LGA. Council is seeking up to 10 community members who are seniors living in the LGA with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences to join the committee. They will join up to 4 representatives from local agencies that provide specialist services to seniors and Council’s delegate, Cr Macdonald, to form the committee.

The Small Business Advisory Committee will provide advice to Council to support the retention and growth of existing businesses in the region, and encouraging new investment. Council is seeking 5 community members with experience owning or managing small businesses or providing support services to small businesses to join the committee. They will join one representative appointed by the Bungendore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, one representative appointed by Braidwood and Villages Business Chamber, and Council’s delegate, Cr Macdonald, to form the committee.
