The final meeting of the current Council term is on Wednesday 11 September before the local government elections this Saturday 14 September 2024. The next meeting of Council will be held after the election results are declared at a date to be confirmed.

An important milestone is the final Council meeting for Cr Michele Biscotti, who was first elected to Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council in 2017 and is not standing for re-election.

Cr Biscotti has been an advocate for the development of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan and chair of the QPRC Access Committee for many years, campaigning for early intervention programs for our young people with mental health issues to state and federal government. He has been instrumental in the QPRC Sports Facility Action Plans, and has co-chaired the QPRC Sports Council, delivering many improvements and infrastructure upgrades to our regional and local sporting facilities.

Matters on the last Council meeting agenda for this term include the Financial Statements 2023-24; naming of two parks and a lookout in Jumping Creek; tender evaluations to appoint a contractor for the Mulloon Creek Causeway replacement; Bungendore Sports Hub works project update and the review of a Property Information Package Fee on public exhibition.

The meeting is being held in the Nellie Hamilton Centre, 257 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan at 5.30pm on Wednesday 11 September. The business papers are available on Council’s website at www.qprc.nsw.gov.au/Council-Meetings
