After the success of last year’s Diwali Mela celebration we are back in Queanbeyan on 26 October 2024.

Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is again partnering with the Queanbeyan Multicultural Centre and local community groups to hold the Queanbeyan Diwali Mela Lantern Festival.

Festivities will be held in Waniassa Park in Queanbeyan from 6-10pm on Saturday 26 October.

The evening will be full of cultural performances from different communities that celebrate Diwali, along with an array of delicious food options and lots of singing, dancing and of course lights.  The very popular Lantern Parade is also back with Southern Tablelands Arts facilitating lantern making workshops as part of this year’s event so everyone can be involved.

The event is free and everyone is welcome to come along and celebrate Diwali Mela, the Festival of Light.

We are currently seeking applications from food vendors and stallholders that will help make this event even better! Apply until September 30 at www.qprc.nsw.gov.au/diwali

More information will be released closer to the event so keep an eye on Council’s website and Facebook page for updates.
