  • Council heard from 4 members of the public who made presentations about items on the agenda, including Cat Containment Policy, Regional Economic Development and Community Investment Program, Captains Flat Leads Management Network Update, Update on Captains Flat Pool, Captains Flat Lead Progress
  • Council endorsed an application to the Regional Economic Development and Community Investment Program for funding to construct an initial stage of the Monaro Rail Trail
  • Council received an information report about the Captains Flat Lead Management Network
  • Council received an information report with an update on the Captains Flat Pool
  • Council received a report with answers to questions with notice about progress on Captains Flat Lead issues
  • Council deferred the draft Community Strategic Plan 2042 until the next meeting on 26 February
  • Council endorsed the draft Community Engagement Strategy 2025-2028 for public exhibition for 42 days and will receive a report on the results of community feedback on the draft
  • Council adopted the draft Cat Containment Policy with amendments to apply the policy to urban areas and to the timing of introduction, applying to cats born after 1 March 2025 from 1 July 2025 and to all cats in urban areas from 1 January 2027
  • Council endorsed the renewal of the licence agreement over 18 Barrow Place, Queanbeyan East with Queanbeyan Players for $1,500 per annum for a further two-year term
  • Council received an information report with an update on the Memorial Park, Googong
  • Council received an information report with an update on the Regional Sports Complex and review of the Business Plan
  • Council received an information report on councillor workshop on 5 February. Workshop included the Model Code of Meeting Practice OLG Consultation Paper, Community Strategic Plan draft, CRJO Briefing, Plans of Management for Queanbeyan Park, QEII Park and Queanbeyan Showground, and the Cat Containment Policy
  • Council endorsed the 4 January 2025 Local Traffic Committee meeting minutes and recommendations with an amendment around the opening of gates at Queanbeyan Showground
  • Council received report with answers to questions with notice about Nerriga Road, Braidwood
  • Council received report with answers from Transport for NSW to questions with notice about Bungendore Lead Contamination Works
  • Council received report with answers to questions with notice about progress on the Braidwood Carpark project
  • Council received report with answers to questions with notice about the new Hume Recycling Centre
  • In closed session, Council received a report with an update on legal matters
  • In closed session, Council approved Deed of Settlement with the NSW Minister for Education and Early Learning and QPRC, authorised GM to sign sale contracts for the purchase of 2 Majara St and Majara Street Road Reserve for $1 each, and 4, 6 and 10 Majara Street for $1 each. Upon settlement Council will classify the land at 2, 4-6 and 10 Majara Street as Operational Land, proceed to reopening of Majara Street as a Council Road. Council authorised GM to prepare notice of discontinuance of Court Proceedings
