  • Council heard from nine members of the public who made presentations about items on the agenda including: Planning Proposal for Eastern Boundary Amendment at Googong; Procedure for Proponent Initiated Planning Proposals; Albion Complex Heritage Listing; a DA for alterations and additions to Mona Farm in Braidwood; and a Submissions Report on Scoping Proposal for Complying Development in the C4
  • Environmental Living Zone - Bywong and Wamboin.
  • Council granted conditional consent to DA at 140 Little River Road, Braidwood, including variation to Clause 4.3 of the Palerang LEP 2014. A plan of management will address frequency of events and the associated management of noise. Council supported use of amplified noise equipment outside of the woolshed as long as no noise associated with functions is able to be heard at a residential property between the hours of: Sun to Thurs (inc public holidays) - 10pm to 7am, Fri to Sat - 11:30pm to 7am
  • Council will seek a gateway determination from DPHI to amend the QPRLEP 2022 as per a planning proposal for the Googong Township – Eastern Boundary Amendment and will prepare for agency consultation and public exhibition
  • Council received and noted submissions from community workshop and public exhibition for complying development in C4 Environmental Living Zone in Bywong and Wamboin, will present hybrid approach for agency consultation, before preparing formal planning proposal
  • Council adopted the Procedure for Proponent Initiated Planning Proposals
  • Council adopted in principle the name Murumba Road as proposed road name for a road in Bombay and will publish a notice in the NSW Government Gazette
  • Council received investment report for April 2024, noting return of $189,266
  • Council rescinded the existing access licence with the Queanbeyan Leagues Club over Seiffert Oval Sports Ground and approved the new licence agreement for a 5-yr term
  • Council approved the renewal of the Licence Agreement with Queanbeyan Veteran’s Motorcycle Club for a further 5-yr term, re-affirming boundaries of intended licence area
  • Council received the March 2024 Quarterly Budget Review Statement, adopted the budget variations in the report and noted the opinion of Responsible Accounting Officer that Council’s financial performance and projected year result is satisfactory
  • Council received information report about the Bungendore High School
  • Council received information report about the Monaro Street upgrade
  • Council received information report with an update on Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Plan progress
  • Council received information report about the Low Cost Loans Initiative agreement amendment
  • Council received information report with responses to questions with notice about former mayors
  • Council received information report about Councillor workshops held between 2-15 May including: presentation on DA.2024.0064 Proposal for Queanbeyan Leagues Club; Wamboin C4 Planning Proposal; Proponent Led Scoping Proposal Process
  • Council noted minutes of Bungendore Floodplain Risk Management Committee held on 9 April 2024 and adopts recommendations from the meeting
  • Council noted minutes of Local Traffic Committee Extraordinary Meeting on 23 April, and adopted recommendation that Reconciliation Walk 2024 is supported
  • Council noted the minutes of the QPRC Sports Council meeting on 6 May 2024
  • Council will seek a meeting with Heritage NSW to discuss the removal in error of the local listing of the Albion Complex and a process to expedite reinstating the listing on Schedule 5 of the QPRLEP 2-22 and use the Braidwood Historical Society’s records to assist
  • In closed session, Council authorised compulsory acquisition and making of application to Minister for Local Government and Governor for part lots from Crown Lands for purpose of road widening
  • In closed session, Council received information report about Bungendore Office and property development
