Completed upgrade of changerooms at Queanbeyan Aquatic Centre

The four new changerooms include baby changing tables and shower facilities to allow parents to shower and dress children in a private space before and after using the pool facilities. The new changerooms will join an existing accessible family changeroom, bringing the total number from one to five.

The extra changerooms will encourage more parents to bring their children to the pool. They will also provide adequate changing spaces during school swimming carnivals, swimming lessons and other swimming programs.

Crown Lands, part of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, helped fund this project through a $244,305 Crown Reserves Improvement Fund (CRIF) grant with QPRC funding the rest of the project. The total cost was $606,000.

The project was completed in October 2024.
