Baby Bounce – Friday mornings at 10am during school terms – Babies to 18 months

Come along to our weekly Baby Bounce session, designed for babies aged between 6-18 months. This lap sit program is designed to be enjoyed by a child with a participating parent or caregiver. Baby Bounce is on Friday mornings at 10am in the Queanbeyan Library.

Toddler Time – Monday mornings at 10am during school terms – for 18 months to 3 years

Toddler time is held weekly in the Queanbeyan library during the NSW school terms. These sessions are for children aged 18-36 months. They involve a mix of stories, games, free play with toys from our toy library, craft and of course, age appropriate books.

Storytime – Wednesday mornings at 10am during school terms – for 3 – 5 years

Storytime is held in Queanbeyan on Wednesdays during school terms. Storytime is aimed at children aged 3-5 years. We aim to produce an exciting and engaging program that centers on a different theme each month. Bookings are required.

Music Play - Wednesday mornings at 11:15am during school terms for 3-5 years

Experience the joy of music through singing, movement and percussion whilst learning the fundamentals of music, pitch and rhythm in a supportive and fun group environment.

This 45 minute program is designed for children aged 3-5 years and will be run by Emma Zen from Music for Canberra.

STEAM Club – Last Thursday of the month 3.30-4.30pm

Our STEAM (Science | Technology | Engineering |Arts and Maths) Club is a fun monthly workshop focusing on experimenting, design, building and playing. The library has a growing STEAM collection including lego, spheros, coding, makey makey, bloxels, chibitronics, mindstorms, osmo and more. For ages 8 and over. It is held on the last Thursday of every month from 3.30-4.30pm in the Queanbeyan library activity room.Bookings are essential and need to be made via Eventbrite - https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/queanbeyan-palerang-libraries-11376964153 

School holiday programs – every school holidays

Looking for something to do during the school holidays? Why not visit the library and get creative. Fun activity sessions are held each school holidays for primary school children. Visit the library 'What's On' page for more details.

Home library service to new parents

Have you recently had a baby and are finding it hard to get to the library? Let the library come to you. We are now offering a home library service to parents of newborns to 12 weeks old. Our team will select items for you based on your preferences and deliver them to your door. Contact us for more details.

Family Day Care Scheme

QPRC has been operating a Family Day Care scheme in the local community for almost 40 years.  It offers small group settings with mixed age groups, where children are cared for by qualified educators. We have over 30 educators operating throughout Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Googong and Wamboin. Our Coordination Unit is based in Queanbeyan. There are a range of care types available.
